We are located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, 10 minutes walk from the picturesque village of Beddgelert.
Sygun Fawr is ideally situated for all grades of walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. Keen walkers can reach the summit of Snowdon from the house in approximately 4 hours via the Watkin Path, the start of which is only two miles away.
Other routes to the summit of Snowdon include Rhyd Ddu (3 miles away), Snowdon Ranger Path (4 miles away) and Pen y Pass (Pig and Miners track) is a 15 minute drive away.
Other walks nearby include Moel Hebog, the Nantlle ridge and Cnicht. Gentler walks from the house include, Llyn Dinas, Cwm Bychan and Aberglaslyn gorge, where you can visit Gelerts grave on the bank of the river Glaslyn.
Train enthusiasts can enjoy the Welsh Highland Railway (which now stops at Beddgelert), the Ffestiniog Railway (Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog) and the Snowdon Mountain Railway, for a less strenuous journey to the summit of Snowdon!

Nearby places of interest include the Italianate village of Portmeiron which was the location for the enigmatic 1960's TV series, the Prisoner, Bodnant gardens and the wonderful beaches of the Lleyn peninsula.
There are many National Trust properties you can visit including Penrhyn Castle, Ty Mawr Wybrnant, Plas yn Rhiw and Plas Newydd.
