Disability Access Statement

Sygun Fawr dates from 1644 and is built into the hillside, so it does have some physical limitations to accessibility.

Sygun Fawr is situated in an elevated position along a narrow lane and then up our steep drive. This leads to our private gravelled car park. You pass the front door so luggage can be dropped off with ease. We do have steps up to the front door, and then more steps up to the dining room. However, from the new conservatory door, there is only one step into the building via double doors. There are further steps though a narrow wall into the snug and bar.

We do not have a lift, though we do have one ground floor bedroom, however, in the small en suite there is a step into the shower. All the other shower rooms have a small step into the showers and we do have some rooms with bath only. The public toilet is also up a few steps.

Although some stairs are not particularly steep, we are not able to offer suitable accommodation for people with severe heart conditions, and anyone not able to use stairs or steps. However, help will be given to find a suitable alternative in the area should you wish.

Although we do not offer room service, we live on the premises, and we will always be on hand in case of emergency. We do all we can to provide all our guests with a personal and caring service, and we try to overcome any barriers that the physical limitations of the property create.

We and all our staff are aware of the needs of all our guests and will be delighted to help in any way we can to make your stay enjoyable.
